Ready for the future

Starting September 1, 2025, Microsoft will offer three new packages to complement Microsoft Business Premium. These packages are tailored to medium-sized organizations and offer enterprise-level security, compliance, and identity protection at an SMB price. With these additional packages, organizations will be ready for the future.

Microsoft Defender Suite for Business Premium

Microsoft Defender is a comprehensive solution for protecting organizations against cyber threats (identity, devices, email, and cloud threats). The new Defender Suite for Business Premium adds the following solutions (also available as standalone products):

  • Microsoft Entra ID Plan 2
  • Microsoft Defender for Identity
  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint Plan 2
  • Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 (tenant-wide solution!)
  • Microsoft Defender for Cloud Apps

Organizations that have licensed all users with Microsoft 365 Business Premium can license these users with Microsoft Suite for Business Premium. This means that Microsoft Business Premium is a licensing requirement. User subscriptions cost EUR 9.50 per user per month with a 12-month subscription. The minimum number of licenses that must be purchased per organization is 25, the maximum is 300.

Tenant-wide licenses

Please note that Microsoft Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 provides tenant-wide protection for all users, which means that all users must be licensed for Defender for Office 365 Plan 2 or a suite that includes Defender for Office 365 Plan 2.

Do not combine

For example, if you combine 200 Microsoft Business Premium (with Defender for Business) with 100 Defender Suite for Business Premium (with Defender for Endpoint Plan 2), all users will receive Defender for Business. Only when you license all users with Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 (or a suite that includes it) will all users receive Defender for Endpoint Plan 2 (this is a technical limitation at the tenant level).

Microsoft Purview Suite for Business Premium

In addition to large organizations, SMEs must also comply with legal, industry, or organizational requirements. Microsoft Purview is a brand of compliance solutions focused on protecting organizational data. Microsoft Purview Suite for Business Premium is a suite of Purview solutions designed to help SMEs with their regulatory compliance and includes:

  • Microsoft Purview Insider Risk Management
  • Microsoft Purview eDiscovery and Audit
  • Microsoft Purview Information Protection and Governance

All this for a price of (again) EUR 9.50 per user per month with a 12-month subscription. The licensing principles are the same as those mentioned in the Defender Suite for Business Premium section.

It’s like shopping at Hema… When you purchase the combined Defender and Purview Suites product for Microsoft 365 Business Premium, you pay EUR 14.50 per user per month with a 12-month subscription. Again, the minimum number of licenses that must be purchased is 25, the maximum is 300, and all licensed users must be licensed with Microsoft 365 Business Premium.
